Chester Casey tours the apartment he has just rented and is utterly appalled at the miniscule proportions. It lacks walking room entirely. When his demand of a refund prompts the customer satisfaction system to offer him a free month’s rent, he instead acquiesces and crams himself into the tiny sleeping bay to watch a movie.
There certainly exists a general tendency to swallow good deals. However, as airlines have proved via their increasingly disgruntled passengers, Mr. Casey’s situation is rather fictitious. There is a limit to the incommodity of economy, and we will, quite hopefully, never need to endure such maximized efficiency of space in our living quarters.
