Not Quite Yet

A man awakens from cryostasis every century to learn of the world, but consistently finds it to be unlike his expectations and so returns to stasis.

The message is simple: Let the world pass you by long enough, and you will presently learn that time will not bring it into conformity with your expectations. The world is not what you would have it be, and escape, at least, cannot make it so.
