Visions of Gold

Joy is a tricky subject. By joy, I mean that intense, almost painful desire that seems undirected at any particular target, but which tends to bring us to expect more from this world than it has ever been capable of delivering. In this rather long, short story, a man possessed of an ethereal vision travels the world in search of his dream, only to find it portrayed in a child’s picture book. See if you can unravel the meaning of that one. ;-)
